Former Everton chief Keith Wyness has insisted Farhad Moshiri will go down as “one of the worst owners in football”.Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – slammed the “terrible” transfer business and manager appointments under the 68-year-old’s stewardship.Moshiri agreed to sell his majority stake in the club to US-based investors 777 Partners back in September 2023, but the deal is still waiting for Premier League approval.At the time, the British-Iranian businessman said 777 were the “best partners to take our great club forward, with all the benefits of their multi-club investment model”.Moshiri initially invested in Everton back in 2016 and increased his shareholding to 94.1% in 2022.Wyness rips into Everton owner Moshiri – he’s the ‘worst in football’Speaking after the Merseysiders announced losses of £89.1million for the 2022-23 campaign, Wyness accused the Toffees’ owner of “divorcing himself completely” from the club.He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “We’re looking now at Moshiri having the greatest loss of any Premier League club during his tenure.“It’s been chaotic, in terms of the management of the club at the top levels.His view on things are somewhat tarnished. For him to say 777 Partners are they best buyers and best people for the club – that raises a lot of red flags.He seems to have divorced himself completely from the club, there’s a complete lack of leadership at the moment.It’s been a terrible ride and the latest news is terrible.Aside from the stadium, Moshiri is going to go down as one of the worst owners in football.The number of terrible signings, sales, changes in manager and directors of football – he’s going down as one of the worst.Everton as an institution are the ones who have suffered.
