Leeds United have been strongly linked with a sensational move to re-sign Kalvin Phillips this summer after his West Ham stint comes to an end and he returns to Manchester City. The end of the regular season comes this week for Leeds, but there is every chance that their attempts to get promoted back to the Premier League will extend their involvement via the playoffs.Whether they go up or not will have a massive bearing on the players that the 49ers will be looking to sign.

Leeds ‘interested’ in Kalvin Phillips reunion – Reports The Daily Mail claimed recently that Kalvin Phillips is being lined up for a shock return to Elland Road in the summer window. He is currently on loan from Manchester City at West Ham, but is failing to rebuild his reputation since leaving the Whites in 2022.

Playing time has been at a premium at Man City, and his form since moving to the London Stadium has seen him drop down the pecking order again. A loan deal has been mooted in the above report, with Leeds not expected to be willing to pay £30million to buy him permanently if they are promoted.

Kalvin Phillips only wants to re-join Leeds Now, Football Insider have shared claims on Phillips’ stance over a move back to West Yorkshire during the summer window. They reveal that West Ham coaches are adamant he would like to be back in Leeds colours for 24/25:“

A well-placed source also told Football Insider that West Ham coaches are convinced that ‘all Phillips is interested in is playing for Leeds’.

A full pre-season might be all Phillips needs to get back to his best form next season, along with a manager willing to trust him. However, it’s a lot to ask for us to be that club, given that we’d be forking out a significant amount on wages to get him here. There’s no guarantee whatsoever that he’d be good enough for it to be a worthwhile signing, and we ought to consider other options because of that.
