West Ham will not be signing Manchester City Kalvin Phillips permanently amid a recent injury setback.
The journalist claims that the decision was made weeks ago and he’ll return to the Etihad with the Citizens open to solutions.
Leeds United are understood to be keen on re-signing the England international as it’s where he played his best football.

West Ham made a mistake bringing in Kalvin PhillipsPhillips has struggled since moving to the London Stadium and it’s evident he’s no longer the player he once was.
Not signing him permanently is a logical move given his recent injury setback and underwhelming performances during his loan spell.
Phillips joined the Hammers in January from Manchester City, but his time at the club has been hampered by injuries and a lack of impact on the field.
He made only a few appearances and failed to live up to expectations, which likely influenced West Ham’s decision to not pursue a permanent deal.
His fitness record continues to be pretty awful and it’s sensible to not risk signing him as he would’ve likely cost a lot of money.
It remains to be seen if he successfully can rekindle his career but this is not a risk the Hammers must take as they’ve got plenty of issues ongoing already.
