There is no indication that clubs are already in the race to sign West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
That no teams are already pushing to sign the Ghanaian international this summer, despite reports that he has a release clause in his Irons contract.
Sources at the London Stadium are doing everything they can to keep such a clause quiet and confidential at this moment in time but it doesn’t seem as though a summer exit is set in stone.Writing in his Daily Briefing column, Romano said: “There is no indication about clubs being in the race to sign Mohammed Kudus yet, it’s still early but some sources confirm there might be a release clause into his contract – even if West Ham sources are keeping it quiet and confidential at the moment.
Will Mohammed Kudus leave West Ham United in the summer transfer window? Despite only joining the ranks at West Ham last summer, there has already been plenty of speculation around Kudus’ future beyond the end of the season with a number of top clubs expected to move for the winger.
David Ornstein has previously admitted he would be surprised if the likes of Liverpool weren’t keeping tabs on the 23-year-old [The Athletic, 3 May] and his release clause could make a deal incredibly viable come the end of the season.
The Hammers simply cannot afford to lose the winger this summer. He has been one of the few bright sparks in the last few weeks and it would be a massive blow to potentially lose both him and Lucas Paqueta in one transfer window.
Hopefully, the Irons will keep that release clause out of the public eye between now and the end of the season. Otherwise, it feels unlikely that Kudus will still be playing in claret and blue at the start of next term.
