West Ham United have tabled a bid for Brazilian attacker Wesley Gassova amid interest from several other Premier League clubs, according to HITC.

Writing on their website (22 May), the news outlet report that Corinthians are willing to sell the forward for around £25m but the Hammers have only offered around half that so far.

That has left the door open for Fulham, Everton, Crystal Palace and Brighton to potentially table their own offers, with club president Augusto Melo due in London for the Champions League final on June 1. However, the belief is that he will also hold talks over the 19-year-old winger’s future while he is in the UK.

West Ham United making early moves in the transfer window Tim Steidten has clearly been aware for a while that he was going to be the man in charge this summer when it comes to building up the squad, and moves are being made nice and early.

Aaron Cresswell has agreed to a new contract to lessen the need for a new left-back in the squad, but several players are expected to leave and that means new options in attack are necessary.

Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals both left in January while Maxwel Cornet and Danny Ings are expected to leave this summer, while Michail Antonio is wanted by Saudi and MLS clubs.

Wesley doesn’t have the most experience or even the best numbers when it comes to his career, but he is still very young and clearly has got great potential which is something the Hammers want to target.

Bringing him in will give Julen Lopetegui a great wildcard option in attack, and gives the club a chance to potentially make a huge profit in the future too.
