The start to the summer transfer window has likely been much busier for Everton than most expected with some players entering the squad whilst others have departed.
Although plenty of moves have already been made, as most Everton fans will agree, their squad was in dire need of an overhaul.
That is despite the performances of both Amadou Onana and Jarrad Branthwaite throughout the last campaign.
Whilst both their futures lie in the balance due to interest from other clubs, it seems as if the latter is likely to stay. This is good news for Toffees fans but for the club to find some better form in 2024/25, reinforcement will be needed.
And, fortunately for Branthwaite, another perfect partner in Davinson Sanchez has just cropped up.
Everton have made a bid worth £16million for the Galatasaray star [Futbol Arena, 5 July] and could see him as an ideal Ben Godfrey replacement.

The Colombia international currently plies his trade for Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig, this might not fill fans with confidence but he has played all three Copa America games thus far and has helped his nation top their group.
He’s available for a fee of £25.4million which would be partly paid for by the fee received from the sale of Godfrey to Atalanta [Gianluca Di Marzio, 28 June].
Although James Tarkowski is more than a good enough centre-back for the Premier League, back-ups Mason Holgate and Michael Keane are far from their best.
So, if Sanchez were to join he’d likely have to prove his worth and showcase his ability in one of the world’s toughest leagues again.
His name may be an underwhelming link for some but as a final gift from Farhad Moshiri, before he sells the club, Everton could do far worse.
