Everton are now closing in on their third signing of this summer’s transfer window with just one step to go.
After a really positive start to the summer, Sean Dyche‘s side were hit with a real blow on Friday morning.
News broke from Goodison Park that The Friedkin Group were no longer in the running to takeover the Merseyside club.
However, the good news to come out of the latest takeover collapse is that Everton remain in a solid financial position for the short term.
it does seem as if Everton‘s immediate transfer business is not being affected with the Toffees looking to lock in their third addition of the summer.
Everton now one step away from third signing
On Friday, Everton played their first pre-season game of the summer against Sligo Rovers which ended in a stunning 3-3 draw.
The game in Ireland allowed Dyche to provide debuts for his two summer additions Tim Iroegbunam and Iliman Ndiaye.
More signings are going to be eyed for the Blues despite their takeover debacle with Amadou Onana set to depart for Aston Villa in a £50m sale.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Everton are now closing in on the addition of Jesper Lindstorm on a season-long loan.
It is now claimed by the report from Italy that Lindstrom is now just one step away from sealing his move to Goodison.
The loan deal is said to be worth up to €4m (£3m) and Everton will have the opportunity to make his stay permanent for around €22m (£18m).
The deal is said to be so advanced that Napoli are preparing to wave goodbye to the Danish winger.
Everton remain financially solid despite takeover debacle
One player who also finds himself a big topic of discussion in the summer transfer window is Jarrad Branthwaite.
However, Everton’s stance has not changed on Branthwaite despite the takeover collapse and they will still ask for at least £70m to sell him.
Bringing in a player like Lindstrom would be a strong statement from Everton – despite it being an initial loan – with Lindstrom labelled as a ‘huge talent’.
It has to be remembered there is still a long way to go in this summer’s window and the two signings already brought in with Iroegbunam and Ndiaye have already impressed against Sligo Rovers.
