Everton Eye Jackson Tchatchoua in Potential Transfer Coup
Bryan King, former Goodison Park scout, has thrown his support behind Everton’s pursuit of Jackson Tchatchoua from Hellas Verona, viewing the right-back as a “positive” addition to the squad.
As reported by the Italian newspaper Corriere Di Verona on August 3rd (page 13), Everton has tabled a £6.8 million bid plus two bonuses for Tchatchoua. However, Hellas Verona is holding firm, seeking at least £8.5 million upfront for their promising defender.
In an exclusive interview with Goodison News, King endorsed the potential signing. “I would imagine Everton are looking for cover for Séamus Coleman,” King remarked. “They need a new option in that position, and having a veteran like Coleman to mentor him would be invaluable.”
King highlighted Tchatchoua’s age and potential as significant advantages for the club. “He’s at a good age and could be a solid long-term option for Everton. The club has raised funds through player sales, and investing in a player who could contribute for five to six years is undoubtedly positive.”
With the 2024/25 campaign on the horizon, Everton manager Sean Dyche is eager to bolster his squad. Signing a young right-back with international experience like Tchatchoua would be a shrewd move, particularly given the aging profiles of current full-backs such as Coleman and Ashley Young.
