It is now two defeats from their opening two games in the 2024/25 Premier League campaign for Everton.
Sean Dyche‘s side have been embarrassed for the second straight week in what has been a dismal start to the new campaign.
Tottenham Hotspur had the game wrapped up inside the opening 25 minutes with the Toffees looking a yard off the pace.
Goals from Yves Bissouma and Heung-min Son put the hosts two goals to the good within half an hour and Spurs were able to coast to all three points.
Going forward, Everton looked toothless and provided very little for Guglielmo Vicario to deal with in the Spurs net.
And former Everton winger Pat Nevin admitted he had spotted just how frustrated one of the Blues forwards looked in north London.

Going into the game, there has been a lot of talk about whether enough has been done in the market to bolster Everton’s attack.
Everton have been linked with a potential move for Chelsea’ Armando Broja after his proposed move to Ipswich Town looks set to collapse.
And it was another goalless afternoon for the Everton striker who is searching for his first league goal of the season.
Despite failing to provide any goals last week against the Seagulls, Dyche decided to stick with Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front.
However, the former Everton man, Nevin, spotted just how annoyed the £100k-per-week Calvert-Lewin looked at times with a lack of opportunities coming his way at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
“Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a bit frustrated at the minute, he is asking for something beyond to chase onto. He is capable of holding the ball up, but there is no-one near him,” Nevin said on BBC Sport‘s coverage of the game.
This comes at a time when Calvert-Lewin’s Everton future is under threat with just one-year remaining on his current contract.

Saturday’s display was not particularly poor from the 27-year-old who suffered from a real lack of opportunities with Spurs on the front foot.
