This positivity was short-lived though, with that same reporter refuting his own claim by suggesting that a Premier League rival were trying to hijack the move.
And, they were doing so successfully.
He wrote on X: ‘While Everton were holding the rope, Ernest Nuamah now favours the offer from Fulham which has been involved in the case in recent hours.’
