Inter Milan have shown an interest in Jackson Tchatchoua from Hellas Verona after an Everton bid was rejected over the summer, according to FC Inter News.

The Italian outlet reported on 4 September that the Nerazzurri are looking for a potential replacement for Denzel Dumfries with the Cameroon international being assessed.

The Serie A giants could face competition from the Toffees for the 22-year-old who had an £8.4million bid rejected during the transfer window.

There is no doubt that the right-back position at Goodison could do with some renovation right now.

Given that the preferred options for Sean Dyche are Seamus Coleman and Ashley Young, their age may prove to be an issue as the season goes on.

It appears that there is a lack of trust in Nathan Patterson so it could make sense for all parties if he is afforded a move away.

If he is to leave and Everton looks to add a youthful look to their full-back areas, Tchatchoua could prove to be a useful option if a deal can be struck ahead of Inter.

The Cameroonian can play in the back line or on the wing which could prove to offer Dyche a tactical swap in game when needed.

The defence at Goodison has struggled to begin the season and the introduction of a fresh face or two in the coming weeks could prove to be positive.
