Celtic fans always regard their club as one of the biggest and best supported in the world.
Playing football in Scotland doesn’t exactly give Celtic the same global media coverage as some of the clubs from the top five leagues in the world but that hasn’t stopped the club from having a worldwide fanbase.
But on top of that, the crowds that Brendan Rodgers‘ side at Celtic Park have been nothing short of amazing.
And to prove it, a report from UEFA has highlighted Celtic as one of the best-supported clubs in Europe.
Celtic broke the 1m attendance mark in 2023/24
In a UEFA report called The European Club Talent and Competition Landscape, Celtic was one of only 16 clubs in Europe to break through the 1m aggregated attendance mark last season.
According to the report Celtic racked up a combined home attendance of 1,117,712 split into three categories.
Due to their 58,975 season-ticket holders, Celtic’s Scottish Premiership attendance was 1,359,422. The domestic cup competitions pulled in 73,412 and UEFA competitions 168,298.
This is a good achievement for a club from a country with such a small population as Celtic to become only the second club outside of the top five leagues to make the list.
Celtic trump Liverpool and Man City attendances
What makes this even more impressive is that in 12th place, Celtic outstrip Premier League giants Liverpool (13th) and Man City (16th).
Celtic also bettered second-tier Bundesliga club Schalke (14th) and Ligue 1 outfit Marseille (15th) but were only slightly behind Atletico Madrid (11th) and Premier League trio Arsenal (10th), Spurs (9th) and West Ham (8th).
These numbers further hammer home just how impressive the Celtic support is at backing their team week in and week out over every competition as they help to drive the team to their current successes.
