Celtic fans have enjoyed a glut of goals this season as they watch their team domestically and in Europe.
In the Scottish Premiership, Celtic have been deadly hitting an average of almost three goals per game with the biggest win being the Bhoys’ 6-0 win over St Johnstone.
In the League Cup, Brendan Rodgers’ team have knocked in 14 goals in three games against Hibs, Falkirk and Aberdeen.
And in the Champions League, the Hoops have scored nine goals which included Celtic’s 5-1 hammering of Slovan Bratislava.
So it is little wonder that in the recent report from the CIES Football Observatory, Celtic ranks as one of the highest teams with shots from danger zones and points achieved vs expected.

Being the dominant club in Scotland, this is no surprise but when you measure Celtic’s result against some of the best in Europe then you cannot help but be impressed.
Celtic are 6th in the table when comparing shots taken in the danger zone [the central rectangle of the penalty area] compared to shots conceded.

Celtic earn more points per game vs expected
Because of their attacking intent and not allowing opponents as many shots on the Celtic goal, the Hoops earn an average of 0.45 points per game more than expected.
Again, that is a better return than Barcelona (0.43), Napoli (0.37), Sporting Lisbon (0.35) and Lazio (0.34).
Rangers perform poorly on this metric with earning -0.03 points from what the report expects.
Brendan Rodgers is once again showing how he is taking Celtic forward in his second spell as boss and it seems like there is still much more to come from his team yet.
