It has put pressure on manager Domenico Tedesco and there are suggestions he could be booted out sooner rather than later.
The Daily Record has reported that Clement is a ‘surprising’ name to emerge as Tedesco’s replacement and that then opens the door, if he gets the job, for Engels to work with the Rangers boss on the international stage.

Engels has made a strong start to his Celtic career and he deserves the four caps he has earned for Belgium so far.
There is no doubt that there are more to come, it’s just a case of the nation sorting out their manager issue and then they can move forward.
Engels effectively replaced Matt O’Riley this summer, so in that sense, they were big shoes to fill, added to the pressure that he is playing for Celtic and arrived for record-breaking money.
