Celtic’s recruitment has been on point for many years now.

Whether it’s Brendan Rodgers in the dugout or Celtic hero Ange Postecoglou, the club haven’t got much wrong and the results are there for everyone to see.

Even now, with Celtic making an outstanding start to the season, quite a lot of the players thriving were signed under the man now at Tottenham.

From the Japanese trio to the underrated right-back Alistair Johnston, it has taught many how to do business, but most importantly, remain patient.

Sometimes, and you can understand why, the Celtic fans want that ready-made player, but instead, the powers that be at Parkhead have purchased one for the future or that player who needs time to settle in – a certain Nicolas Kuhn springs to mind!

There is a chance the Bhoys go down that road during the January transfer window, and if they do, then it has left a certain Barry Ferguson pretty unhappy.

Barry Ferguson doesn’t want Lennon Miller to join Celtic
Lennon Miller has been linked with Celtic as he continues to grow in the colours of Motherwell this season.

The 18-year-old is already being tipped for big things, including by Ferguson himself, who stated that he has been a ‘standout’ performer.

But when he was told that there is a chance Miller could be headed to Celtic he stated ‘I won’t be too happy’, as he expects a deal to happen in January and then for the player to return to Fir Park to see out the season, as he told Go Radio.

Ferguson added that the ‘£4 million’ price put on the teenager’s head is ‘fair’, but he expects more clubs outside of those in Scotland, to push for his services.

I think the valuation of £4 million is fair on Lennon Miller,” said Ferguson. “I think he will get sold in January, but allowed to play with Motherwell until the end of the season.

“Who’s that to? I am going to hazard a guess that there will be a hell of a lot clubs in for him at that price. I think he has the potential to play at the highest level. He has been a standout, let’s be honest. He has gained so much experience in the short period of time in his professional career. It’s going to be a big decision. What I know is that he is a level-headed guy and he has a family behind him. They will make the right decision for him. Would I love to see him at Rangers? 100% I would. Can Rangers afford him? I don’t know.

On Celtic signing Miller: “I wouldn’t be too happy, of course. You want to see good young players go to your team – I would be absolutely shocked if both Celtic and Rangers aren’t interested. There will be teams down south. Teams in Italy – he could easily play for Celtic or Rangers.

Miller’s stats for Motherwell
Celtic aren’t in any rush to bring in any players because their midfield is already jam-packed and there isn’t any space for Miller.

You could argue that the midfield is the most difficult area of the pitch to break into, with captain Callum McGregor leading the charge.

If the champions sign Miller, then they must surely loan him back out because, even players like Paulo Bernardo can’t start regularly for Celtic and he is levels above the Scottish youngster.

But you can understand why there is hype around the player, with WhoScored rating his performances at 7.32 this term.
