Celtic fans can look back at the Ange Postecoglou era with fond memories.
Postecoglou joined Celtic as an unknown figure and many were questioning who he was, but it didn’t take him too long to introduce himself.
It needs to be remembered that the Greek-born Australian came into a side that had just lost the title and were a mess on and off the field.
Yet, he turned that all around, not only by winning trophies, but doing it in a style that lifted every Celtic fan off their seats.
One of the standouts from Postecoglou’s time at Celtic was the recruitment and how he turned hardly-known players into diamonds.
Many of them are still thriving today under Brendan Rodgers, from the consistent Alistair Johnston to derby day king Kyogo Furuhashi.
But there is one who slipped through the net under Postecoglou and Scott Allan feels the right call was made.

Still a teenager, many would have questioned and perhaps advised Ben Doak to stay in the comfort zone of Celtic.
A boyhood fan coming through the ranks, he had the world at his feet and it was just a case of being patient and the opportunities would be there.
After all, the rising Scotland star did make a few appearances under Ange, so it’s not like he was being completely blanked.
But fast forward to the present and Allan thinks Doak was ‘absolutely right’ to leave because the pathway was easier to break into at Liverpool than Celtic, as he told PLZ Soccer.
Allan described how Doak now has a ‘top-level’ quality that is helping him thrive for his country and out on-loan at Championship side, Middlesbrough.
He’s got that real top-level pace,” said Allan. “We don’t have a lot of them in this country. He came through the Celtic academy. They did a lot of work with him, as you can see.
“But there is still that element of freedom in his play. I think that’s why he is so unpredictable, especially when he is dribbling.
“At the time he left, I thought he definitely made the right decision, because at that time under Ange, with Jota, James Forrest and Abada. It was an easier path into Liverpool’s first team than there was Celtic, which was incredible.
How much has Doak played for Liverpool after leaving Celtic?
Ideally, Doak would like to play on the right for Liverpool, but he has a certain Mohamed Salah ahead of him.
Salah is out of contract next summer and you sense if he leaves, then it opens up the door for Doak to break into Arne Slot’s side next season.
But until then, he will probably continue to be a bench player, at best, as he has only played ten matches in all competitions since leaving Glasgow for Merseyside.
