Brendan Rodgers has built numerous incredible Celtic squads over the years.

The manager is a quadruple Treble winner as well as an Invincible and has boasted various top stars within his sides to dominate Scottish football and then depart as heroes for big money.

His current crop of talent are scrapping in among Rodgers‘ best ever and that includes the 2016 playing staff who lifted an unbelievable unbeaten trio of trophies.

For the Northern Irishman, though, it is difficult to compare and contrast his two squads from the different eras with almost 10 years between them.

He is simply delighted to have had the opportunity to work with such excellent footballers over his two terms.

Celts sit top of the Scottish Premiership right now with nine points separating them from Rangers while Aberdeen hang on with just goal difference keeping them apart for now.

But when pushed, Rodgers admitted he does see one difference where his current squad are BETTER than the outfit which boasted the likes of Kieran Tierney, Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele among others.

Where Brendan Rodgers feels Celtic are better now than his Invincible squad
Speaking to Celtic TV the boss said: “This team will be faster.

“I would say there’s more speed in this team. The team I had first time around were very good in their possession, very good in terms of scoring goals, and they were a very strong group mentality.

“This is a different group, a different generation.

Celtic are ‘faster’ now than they were in 2016
“It’s nearly a decade since 2016 and football changes. It’s a different group of personalities.

“That team I had were super successful and that first season was history making in terms of what the players did. It’s about this team creating their own history.

“I’m so pleased with how it’s gone but we still have a lot of work to do.
