Celtic’s win over Hearts has opened up a nice little gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership table this weekend.
After Aberdeen and Rangers both dropped points, Celtic took advantage of that as the Bhoys comfortably beat Hearts at Tynecastle after a tentative first-half display from Brendan Rodgers’ men.
However, Celtic looked like a new side after Rodgers’ half-time pep talk sparked the Hoops into action as goals from Kyogo Furuhashi, Nicolas Kuhn and an Adam Idah double sealed the win and sent the three points back to Glasgow.
But there was an incident Celtic fans might have missed in Tynecastle after Idah scored his first goal and here, the Republic of Ireland striker explains exactly what happened.

After Idah scored his first goal of the game, the Celtic striker immediately cupped his ears to the Hearts support and here, he explains why.
Idah told The Scottish Sun, “I definitely enjoyed it. They were giving me a bit when I was warming up so I thought I’d give a bit back. I could probably buy all my Christmas presents with the amount of coins on the pitch.
But it’s a bit of banter and I was happy to celebrate in front of both sets of fans.
You want to make an impact. I was delighted to get the goals and three points. It was a good night overall.”
Adam Idah declares Celtic showed what they ‘are all about’ in second-half blitz vs Hearts
Idah admits Celtic weren’t at their best in the Tynecastle first half as the Irishman explains how travelling for international duty took its toll on his teammates.
Idah continued, “It’s always tough when the international break comes, you have people who are coming off long flights, and the training is probably not up to speed.
“In the first half it wasn’t great, it was a bit slow. But in the second half, we came out and showed what we are all about.”
Celtic now have the Champions League fixture against Club Brugge to look forward to on Wednesday night as Rodgers bids to get the Hoops out of the league phase this season.
If the Bhoys produce the same clinical performance from the get-go as they did in the second 45 minutes against Hearts, then another three points could be staying in Glasgow this week.
