The big controversy from the Everton vs Brentford clash was the red card, and Thomas Frank has said come with receipts.
Christian Norgaard was given his marching orders in the first half against Brentford for a challenge on Jordan Pickford after a VAR review.
The Brentford midfielder challenged for the ball, but his studs were up and connected around the knee of Pickford, which could have caused a serious injury.
However, Alan Shearer has come out and said it wasn’t a red card, and the referee should have stood his ground, which Gary Lineker and Ashley Williams agreed with.
Thomas Frank is livid at the call from VAR to award a red card, and he’s even said that the actions of two Everton players proved it wasn’t a sending off.

Jordan Pickford’s reaction after the challenge was to immediately point to and hold his leg. He looked in shock and knew he’d got away lightly without suffering an injury.
It’s fair enough challenging for the ball and he never meant to purposely endanger him, but you’ve got to start looking at the safety aspect of it.
Frank felt hard done by after the game and announced he’s even going to appeal the decision.
Brentford journalist Sam Tabuteau was at the press conference, and he revealed that Frank said the actions of James Tarkowski and Dominic Calvert-Lewin proved it wasn’t a red.
Everton next five games raise concerns
Everton faces possibly one of the toughest runs of any teams in the Premier League over the next five games, as an in-form Wolves, Ruben Amorim and three of the top four are on the cards.
This is the kind of run that could spell the end for Sean Dyche.
The worrying thing is that the teams below are guaranteed to pick up points during this run, as well as a loss to Wolves possibly seeing them jump above the Toffees.
Dan Friedkin is already eyeing a review for Dyche, but they might not have even taken over at the club if things go wrong before the Merseyside derby.
