Celtic B recorded another impressive UEFA Youth League victory over Club Brugge earlier today to maintain their impressive run in the competition.
Coming out of the traps swiftly, the Bhoys made some promising early inroads and their pressure eventually told via potent striker Daniel Cummings to settle the 1-0 scoreline.
Following some excellent approach play down the left, the Scotland Under-19 international took his tally to 22 goals in 20 matches as Celtic took an early lead at Lesser Hampden.
Mitchel Frame saw his effort blocked well in the box soon after before Cummings saw an effort deflect wide. Brugge came close to leveling ahead of the interval, but Aidan Rice was untroubled by Kay Furo’s strike.
Rice was forced into action by Alejandro Granados with just under an hour played. Returning the favour, Jude Bonnar worked Axl De Corte eight minutes down the line. Cummings continued to be a nuisance for the Brugge backline and went close moments later.
Rhys Dargie was denied by a super stop after coming off the bench during an encouraging cameo display in Glasgow’s south side. In stoppage time, Rice made another huge save to deny the visitors a share of the spoils.
In the end, Celtic take the points and move up to 11th in the league phase standings at the time of writing, though it remains to be seen if their placing will change later in the day.

Now their latest UEFA Youth League assignment has concluded, a trip to face Gala Fairydean Rovers awaits Stephen McManus and company this weekend.
After that, East Kilbride make the journey to the Albert Bartlett Stadium before the young Hoops travel to face Dinamo Zagreb in their last Youth League encounter of the year.
Overall, the campaign has been a majorly positive exercise and they have more than held their own against some of the best young sides Europe have to offer.
With a real chance of claiming the Lowland League title, there is every possibility Celtic B could enjoy an equally successful season in conjunction with their first-team counterparts.
