The Scottish Premiership returns this weekend and Celtic will lap up the opportunity to potentially put even more daylight between them and Aberdeen. The Dons were issued their first defeat of the league season against St Mirren, finally separating the two at the top of the table.
Celtic continue their unbeaten run but Rangers’ 1-1 draw to Dundee United saw them slip further behind the Hoops. With the gap now at 11 points, the Gers must push to bank as many wins as possible between now and the end of the season.

Ex-Hibs star discusses Celtic interest
Former Hibs left-back Josh Doig make the switch from Scotland to Italy in 2022 when he signed for Hellas Verona. He has since joined Sassuolo, who were relegated at the end of the last Serie A season. Doig recently had Celtic on transfer alert as Brendan Rodgers considered competition at the left-back role.
However, the 22-year-old has revealed that during the period of the Hoops’ interest, he was not made aware of the discussions being held.
I didn’t hear anything, to be fair. Maybe my agent [did] but I’ve not heard anything. He doesn’t tell me anything. I keep away from all that,” Doig told 67 Hail Hail.
“Because of my first transfer window I let it get to my head. I was 18 and was thinking, ‘My God, this is amazing’. I was on Twitter every day looking at everything. So after that I was thinking I need to stop.
I don’t think there’s a right or wrong time to do it, but I just look at things that are happening right now at Ibrox and I’m not really comfortable with it.
“Even you look at the game at the weekend when he takes Cyriel Dessers off at half-time, is that really deserving? I mean, he brought them back into the game in the semi-final. He brought them back into the game away to Olympiacos in the Europa League.
“There’s a lot going on at Ibrox right now. Sometimes you can see the tide turning, maybe they get a performance or a result. At the minute it just doesn’t, nothing seems to be going right.
