Celtic got the job done against Aberdeen last night with a 1-0 win at Pittodrie.
It was a decent victory for the Hoops to go seven clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, leaving Dons in their dust while Rangers continue to toil all the way back in third.
It followed a magnificent 5-0 victory from last weekend where Liam Scales, Luke McCowan, Paulo Bernardo, Callum McGregor and Adam Idah were the goal scorers against Ross County.
One of those playmakers from last Saturday, McCowan, was considered ‘harshly dropped’ by supporters for last night’s win in the Granite City after he had netted and provided three assists in the one fixture.
But Steven Naismith, the former Hearts head coach, insists that is just how the ex-Dundee captain now has to accept his role at Parkhead having come into a strong squad under Brendan Rodgers.
With the likes of captain McGregor, Reo Hatate and record signing Arne Engels all vying for a spot in the stacked midfield, Naismith has warned McCowan that he will have to bide his time.

The Greenock-born player, 26, has already managed 11 appearances in green and white but Naismith feels he is still coming into his own as a Celtic player.
Once he does, though, Naismith is adamant McCowan can be a major star for the Scottish champions.
And he feels that, as a fan of the club, he already understands the demands expected of players in Glasgow.
McCowan was considered unfortunate to be left out of the XI vs Aberdeen
“I think you need to get used to it. Going to a big club, the demands, competition for places, for me he’s a top player,” Naismith told BBC Sportscene on McCowan being unfortunate to be left out vs Dons.
“Celtic have signed him at a great time.
“This first year he can be that bit-part but as he grows and becomes comfortable with his surroundings, I expect him to be a really big player.
