Gordon Dalziel reckons it was a defensive showing which “summed up” Celtic in their win over Aberdeen earlier this week.
The Hoops managed a narrow 1-0 win over the Dons at Pittodrie with both sides having opportunities that were spurned before the eventual winner.
Reo Hatate lashed home the strike to separate the two and put his side seven points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
But for former Rangers attacker Dalziel it was a significant moment at the other end that had him applauding his old rivals for showing the desire to pick up the points.
After Hatate had broke the deadlock, Ester Sokler had a huge chance for the hosts when he found himself with the goal gaping.
The Slovenian took his time and attempted to slot the ball into the back of the net, only to see American centre-half Cameron Carter-Vickers fly in from the side to divert it over the crossbar for a corner kick.
It was a sublime clearance and block from CCV and ultimately helped his side pick up all three points, a clean sheet and bragging rights.
For Dalziel it was that moment which showed Celtic’s determination to win and was the epitome of what the Scottish champions are looking to do this season.

Speaking on Open Goal’s Keeping the Ball on the Ground podcast, Dalziel said: “D’you know what summed Celtic up for me? Carter-Vickers’ block.
“(Auston) Trusty sets it up – I don’t know what he’s doing – I like Trusty but he sets it up.
“Carter-Vickers, that determination to get there and get that block in is brilliant.

“Do I think (Sokler) should score? He gives Carter-Vickers the time to get the block in.
“But I thought it was one of those performances that, see if you’re Brendan Rodgers, you’re probably going, ‘As much as we go and horse Ross County with the football we play’… that would have been a real good one for him.
“He’s looked at that and thought, ‘They’ve stepped up’.”
Derek Ferguson, meanwhile, insisted Greg Taylor should have started vs Aberdeen and not Alex Valle.
He said: “When I saw the lineup I was a wee bit surprised he didn’t play Taylor.
“He brought him on in the second-half and what an impact he had.
“I’d have played Taylor because going up there and you kind of know weather wise, it would maybe not suit Valle.
