For Rangers-supporting pundit Derek Ferguson, he reckons there is now no chance that his former club can catch Rodgers’ rampant league leaders.
The Scottish Premiership title ‘race’ is all but over already and both James McFadden and Gordon Dalziel agreed on that.

Despite the runaway lead in Celtic’s favour, a defiant – perhaps delusional – Ferguson does still harbour hopes for his old club that they can prevent their rivals going unbeaten in the division.
But while he hopes the Light Blues can hurt Celtic, he’d rather have them lift the Premier Sports Cup later this month when the finale at Hampden Park rolls around.

“No, I’m just thinking somewhere along the line that Rangers will beat them, put a dent in them,” Ferguson stated as he acknowledged how difficult it will be for Gers to quieten the Hoops.
“I’m hoping it’s in 10 days time by the way!
“I’ve got a wee feeling. But they’re in a great place.”
And speaking on Open Goal’s Keeping the Ball on the Ground podcast, Dalziel concluded: “Would I take winning the Premier Sports Cup but Celtic go unbeaten in the league? All day, would you not?”
Celtic and Rangers go head-to-head at Hampden on December 15 for the first silverware of the season.
