Celtic take on Rangers tomorrow in the Premier Sports Cup final and there are plenty of intriguing decisions for Brendan Rodgers to get his teeth into.
Greg Taylor and Alex Valle are vying for the left-back slot, while it remains to be seen whether Auston Trusty or Liam Scales will partner Cameron Carter-Vickers in central defence.
Midfield could be a key point of contention, with Celtic pair Arne Engels and Paulo Bernardo competing for a slot, more than likely alongside Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate.
The striking position will also come under the microscope, but competition for places is healthy among a squad that has strung together a 30-match domestic unbeaten run under Brendan Rodgers.

Peter Grant tips Brendan Rodgers to make key Celtic midfield call
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, former Celtic man Peter Grant laid his thoughts on the line ahead of this weekend’s Hampden showpiece and believes starting Arne Engels against Rangers could help to exploit their rivals due to his ability to run beyond.
He stated: “His timing’s better at coming off. That’s where Engels will maybe get the nod because what Engels does, he comes off the top, and Propper wants to go all the way with you because, (he’s got) no pace, so he wants to come all the way with you.
So the spaces between the fullback, you know, and the centre half has been dragged out. that’s maybe something that Brendan will look at and think, oh, there’s an area of the pitch where we can hurt them.
Arne Engels is probably the best Celtic midfield player at doing that and making that run beyond. That may be the choice that he looks at because that’s what you do as a manager and a coach; tactically, you look at saying, how can we hurt the opposition and Celtic are more prepared to see how they’re going to win the game. That’s why I’m interested to see Clement’s team.”

Despite Engels receiving unwarranted criticism this term, there is no doubt that the Belgium international is a rising star who will become a key player for Celtic.
Occasions such as this weekend provide the ultimate acid test. Despite an impressive cameo on his debut against Rangers, starting in a cup final brings a whole new level of expectation to the fore.
However, ten goal contributions in 20 games from the Dendermonde-born man tell their own story. Most of his at Parkhead is yet to be written, but claiming silverware tomorrow would represent a notable chapter in his career journey.
