Speaking to BBC Sport, Forrest revealed that he was next in line to take a penalty after Daizen Maeda’s winner despite picking up a knock during an intense occasion at Hampden.
He stated: “It’s great to be a part of this club. On days like this, you see the fans at the end, all the players and staff together. I’ve cherished every minute that I’ve been here, and hopefully, there may be more to come.
On when he came on: “He (Rodgers) just said go on and give us a bit of magic, we maybe looked as if we were going to score in extra time. We didn’t manage to do that, I think all the boys that his a penalty (showed) great character, from Kasper and from everyone in the squad today, (I’m) absolutely delighted.
When asked about taking a penalty, he concluded: “I think I was next on the list, I was number six to take it, so I’m glad Daizen scored!”
