James Forrest has been repping Celtic colours for over a decade now.
But Celtic’s League Cup final win over Rangers at Hampden on Sunday was perhaps one of the great matches he has been involved in.
Brendan Rodgers watched his side do it the hard way, but by the end of it all, it was well worth it and it’s something everyone associated with the club will remember forever.
The usual trio started up front – Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi and Nicolas Kuhn – with Forrest replacing the latter in extra-time.
He didn’t have much to do, other than scream from the top of his lungs when Maeda scored the winning penalty and lift yet another trophy for his boyhood club.

Forrest has now equalled Bobby Lennox as Celtic’s most decorated player of all time – 25 trophies to his name.
Premier Sports presenter Connie McLaughlin, who interviewed Forrest on the pitch after the game, hailed his achievements as ‘unbelievable’ and how she doesn’t think she will witness it again in her lifetime.
McLaughlin also revealed on Instagram that she interviewed the winger when he was 17 and now he has done it all with Celtic.

“Not sure I’ll see that again in my lifetime…I remember interviewing him at an event when he was about 17 and him talking about his hopes to achieve great things with the club! Think he’s managed it!

What Forrest told McLaughlin post-match after Celtic beat Rangers
Celtic are sure to win the Premiership title – they hold a nine-point lead over Aberdeen and are 11 points ahead of Rangers.
You suspect that will be Forrest’s crowning glory and the moment he becomes Celtic’s most decorated player in history.
After the game, the Scotland winger told McLaughlin on Premier Sports that, the older he has become, the more he has started to appreciate what he has achieved.
“Delighted,” responded Forrest on how he is feeling. “Just buzzing for the boys. All the work they have put in and all the staff. Then, obviously, to the fans and how much it means to them as well. Just absolutely delighted.
On equal with Lennox: “Oh, it’s unbelievable. When you are older, you really don’t take it for granted at all.
“All the names up there, it’s amazing to be involved in that. But it just comes down to how good the team has been over the years and it has been so successful.
