It’s fair to say that it has been an eventful start to Kasperel’s Celtic career.
The 38-year-old entered the building in the summer replacing the retired Joe Hart and he has already endeared himself to the Celtic fans.
That was proven when Celtic beat Rangers in the League Cup final last week to claim trophy number 119 of their history and go to the top of the charts of Scottish football history.
Schmeichel’s penalty save allowed Daizen Maeda to finish off the job and produce the trophy-winning moment in what was an eventual and drama-filled Glasgow derby encounter.
Since then, a lot has been said about the game, from Rangers’ penalty cries to suggestions of a possible replay between Celtic and Rangers.

Gordon Duncan shuts down suggestion of issues with Kasper Schmeichel’s behaviour
Gordon Duncan was the man who sat alongside Willie Collum as he dissected the VAR fallout from the League Cup final.
The Clyde 1 Presenter was asked on Superscoreboard by a Rangers fan if they discussed ‘Schmeichel’s behaviour’ during the penalty shootout.
But Duncan shut it down and stated that the powers that be aren’t going to ‘pour over every single talking point’.
Did Wille Collum say anything about Schmeichel’s behaviour in the penalty shootout when you talked with him in the VAR Review,” asked a Rangers fan.
Duncan responded: “No, it’s because it’s not a VAR incident. If we are going to pour over every single little talking point from the last week, then we wouldn’t get done. That stuff didn’t get done, so it’s not on the VAR Review.
“I don’t think the refereeing department were too concerned by it, if that partly answers your question.

Two games for Schmeichel against Rangers and two wins. Hopefully, he will make it three from three at Ibrox on January 2.
But, so far, his best moment in the colours of Celtic was denying Ridvan Yilmaz – the only save of the shootout.
