Brendan Rodgers has made a number of changes to his starting XI as his side take on Dundee United at Tannadice today, with the Irishman citing two key reasons for the tweaks to his squad.
Speaking ahead of kick-off to broadcaster Sky Sports, the Celtic manager said illness is the reason the heart of his defence has been changed, whereas injury has played its role elsewhere on the pitch.
The Irishman said: “[The changes are] Due to illness and injury. Cam [Carter-Vickers] and Auston [Trusty] have not been well through the week. We’re hoping they’ll be okay for the next game, but today it was too much for them.”
Rodgers added: “Nicolas Kuhn had a sore knee, he hadn’t trained and felt a little bit of pain.
“Alistair [Johnston] is just that issue he had around his hip, that had flared up a little bit. Again, he should be good for the next game but not for today.
