Celtic fans are used to seeing their team’s fixtures and kick-off times being rearranged by Sky Sports to suit the broadcaster’s TV schedules.
So much so that to date this season, the Celtic fans have only enjoyed just three Saturday 3pm kick-offs in the Scottish Premiership this season to date.
Much of that is partly due to Celtic’s participation in the Champions League but mainly it is down to fixtures being moved to suit the broadcasters.
Celtic have had games against the likes of St Johnstone and Hearts moved to silly 5:45pm and 7:45pm kick-off times on a Saturday evening this season and now, Sky Sports have made another announcement regarding the coverage of another of the Parkhead clubs’ fixtures in February of next year.
Sky Sports announce live coverage of Motherwell vs Celtic in February
The broadcasting giant announced that they will now be covering Celtic’s trip to Fir Park in February as part of their live TV coverage of the Scottish Premiership.
Sky Sports said on its website, “Two more Scottish Premiership games have been added to the live on Sky schedule.
“Celtic’s trip to Motherwell on Sunday, February 2 will be shown live with a 3pm kick-off.
“Hearts will host Rangers on Sunday, February 16 at 12pm.
The good news for the Celtic support is that the original kick-off time and date have not been moved to accommodate the live TV coverage for once.
Celtic’s next two fixtures compared to Rangers ahead of Glasgow Derby
After Celtic faces Dundee United this afternoon, there are two more fixtures Brendan Rodgers must negotiate before facing Rangers on the 2nd of January.
With eight points (currently) separating both teams, there can be no margin for error before the big two face each other in the Ibrox Glasgow Derby.

So Celtic have two home ties whereas Rangers face difficult away trips to the SMISA Stadium and Fir Park. Whilst the pressure is on both teams to win their fixtures, there is no doubt the Ibrox club will be feeling the heat more, especially with the gap at the top of the table being so large as it is now.
