Callum McGregor knows more than most just how good Kieran Tierney really is.
The captain has played with the left-back for both Celtic and Scotland and the pair clearly have a strong working relationship and friendship on and off the pitch.
So when Celts were linked with Tierney for what would be a sensational return, McGregor took note.
It is believed manager Brendan Rodgers wants KT back at the club to strengthen his squad in the position.
And with Greg Taylor’s contract expiring in the summer, a permanent switch for Tierney would certainly help the situation.
Rodgers wants to keep Taylor beyond his deal but it remains to be seen if the Greenock-born defender will stick around with other options surely on the table.
Now, though, McGregor has broken his silence on the speculation suggesting Tierney may well be on his way back to Glasgow after it emerged Arsenal would not be extending his contract.

Mikel Arteta claimed Tierney still has a part to play at Arsenal but his minutes on the pitch have been seriously limited in recent seasons.
And McGregor has spoken on what the defender would offer the Hoops should he make the move back to his boyhood club.
Although he was coy about what he may or may not know about the circumstances.
“I’ve not spoken to Kieran yet but I have seen all the stuff that’s been written,” the captain said when asked about the speculation which emerged last week.

“I don’t know too much about it – but we’re generally the last ones to know.
“When someone appears in the building, then we’ll go and meet them. He’s a quality player.
“I’ve been in war with him for a number of years now.
“He’s a good guy and we’ll see what happens.”
One journalist said Tierney would likely join Celtic in the New Year while Neil Lennon had his reservations about the possible move.
