The January transfer window is open and Celtic fans will be excited to see what road the club goes down.
The powers that be at Celtic are in a pretty strong position because the Premiership title is pretty much wrapped up, the League Cup is in the bag and things are looking positive in the Champions League.
So, in that sense, there isn’t any need for panic and it allows Brendan Rodgers to calmly discuss and ask for who he wants, not just this month, but ahead of the summer too.
The Celtic squad is super strong and you could argue that the one area of the pitch that is the most difficult to break into is the midfield.
The prime reason is that no-one is going to dethrone captain Callum McGregor from a starting spot and Reo Hatate has established himself as one of the club’s top players in recent years.

Josh Brownhill dubbed ‘underrated’ by Scott Parker amid Celtic interest

Burnley manager Scott Parker has watched and coached the Englishman first-hand this season as the Clarets aim to make a return to the Premier League after relegation last season.
Parker described Brownhill as ‘underrated’ and the ‘driving force’ of his promotion-chasing side, as he told Burnley Express.
“There are not enough words to compliment Browny,” said Parker. “He’s a driving force in this team, he’s got brilliant box habits and he’s always in and around the right areas.
“He’s got huge quality and he’s now got nine (goals) for the season, so he’s been fundamental for us. He is (underrated). He’s an exceptional footballer. One, he’s a good type as a human being. That gives you half a chance in the world we’re in.
“But he’s also got huge quality. He’s been in and around this division and the Premier League for some time and you can see that in him. He fully deserves to be in the form he’s in.
Brownhill’s stats for Burnley this season
On paper, Brownhill might not be a name that stands out or the one fans would be excited to watch, but Celtic have been here before.
It’s these players with less noise around them that turn out to be top-quality, so if the champions go down this road, then everyone should back it.
But what’s interesting is that Brownhill is going really strong this season. He is Burnley’s top scorer with nine goals from the middle of the park.
