Normal service resumed for Brendan Rodgers and Celtic on Sunday.
It can’t be ignored that Celtic’s defeat to Rangers in midweek stung, but the celebrations from those at Ibrox didn’t last long.
Rangers drew 3-3 with Hibernian for the lunchtime kick-off and the champions then extended the lead to 13 points hours later.
That came after Celtic put three goals past St Mirren to win game number 17 of the campaign and secure clean sheet number 16.
But it came amid some drama at the start of the second half that even surprised BBC commentator, Alasdair Lamont.
Celtic Park suffers blackout v St Mirren
It seems as though someone forgot to put money in the meter after Christmas because those inside Parkhead were in a blackout after the start of the second half.
Celtic TV suffered an outage as a result of the blackout which lasted less than a minute and wasn’t able to continue its service.
The same happened, for a few seconds, with BBC Radio Scotland’s service and lead commentator Lamont stating that he had ‘never’ witnessed such a situation at Celtic Park before.
Wow, a power cut, momentarily at Celtic Park,” said Lamont. “I actually have no idea if you are still with us, but we will keep talking just in case.
“Incredibly every single light inside Celtic Park went out there. I have never witnessed anything like this. Certainly not at Celtic Park. That is a big power cut.
“Play continuing pretty quickly after that complete blackout for a second or two.
What happened to VAR during the Celtic v St Mirren power outage?
That’s the problem with technology. It’s advanced and is supposed to bring the game forward, but you can’t rely on it.
You see it across Europe on several occasions now, the game is stopped because the on-field referee loses communication with those in the VAR room and the game can’t continue.
But, in this case, both teams agreed to play on as the on-field referee Grant Irvine had to do without his assistants in the warmth at Clydesdale House, before the video assistance resumed just before Adam Idah’s goal was ruled out for offside.
