Brendan Rodgers has named his Celtic starting XI to face St Mirren and has made big changes after the shocking performance against Rangers at Ibrox on Thursday.
Celtic’s performance against Rangers was unacceptable to the Hoops support and it seems that Brendan Rodgers agrees as he rings in the changes to his starting XI for today’s game against St Mirren.
Celtic will be hoping to make a statement against the Paisley side and answer their critics and it seems that Rodgers is aiming to do just that after naming his starting XI this afternoon.

The Celtic team to face Stephen Robinson’s side is as follows:
Starting XI: Schmeichel, Johnston, Carter-Vickers, Trusty, Taylor, McGregor, Engels, McCowan, Kuhn, Maeda, Idah
Substitutes: Sinisalo, Scales, Palma, Kyogo, Valle, Yang, Bernardo, Hatate, Ralston
Clearly unhappy with his players’ performance, Rodgers has sent a message to his Celtic team as Kyogo Furuhashi, Reo Hatate and Paulo Bernardo drop out.
In comes Luke McCowan, Auston Trusty, Arne Engels and Adam Idah get the nod ahead of Furuhashi. The Celtic boss is clearly expecting a reaction from his team and if he needs to, he can always go to the bench.

It’s a lineup that has caused the Celtic fan’s tongues to wag but it seems that the majority are delighted to see Rodgers take action on the players who badly let them down in the New Year Glasgow Derby.
One Celtic fan said, “Glad Scales has been dropped, but persisting with Taylor when he has also been pretty poor is a strange decision.” and another put, “Trusty for the rest of the season.”
It seems the decision to drop Scales and Hatate has gone down well as one fan simply said:
Giving Idah game time has been welcomed, “High time Idah got a proper run of games ..high time.” and another said, “Exactly what had to happen, glad to see Rodgers hasn’t been stubborn with that team selection. Up to the players now to restore their pride after the embarrassment on Thursday.”
Let’s hope Celtic can get back to winning ways quickly with a convincing win against St Mirren to banish those Ibrox blues.
