The January transfer window is well and truly open but, as yet, Celtic are to make any new additions to their squad.

Brendan Rodgers is confident Celtic will make additions over the course of the month but, so far, apart from the Kieran Tierney links to the Bhoys, the rumours have been few and far between.

With cash to burn, money won’t be a major factor in whether or not Celtic make any deals in January but rather more down to who Brendan Rodgers deems good enough to add something extra to his current team.

And Kris Boyd reckons the Celtic manager has already identified the player he wants as the former Rangers man states that an ‘iconic figure’ will join the club this month.

Kieran Tierney’s move from Arsenal to Celtic ‘will happen’
Boyd was speaking about the controversy over Brendan Rodgers’ criticism of Celtic fans singing Tierney’s name and the effect it would have on Greg Taylor when he claimed the big move ‘will happen’ this month.

Boyd told Go Ballistic, “I do think that the singing for Kieran Tierney, listen, he’s an iconic figure for Celtic. He’ll come back.

“I’d imagine this window, the reports today say he’s knocked back a few big English clubs as well. He wants this to happen. I think Celtic want it to happen.

“Brendan Rodgers wants it to happen. So it will happen.”

The chat surrounding Kieran Tierney leaving Arsenal to join Celtic
The headlines have been rife with the rumours of Tierney’s potential return to Paradise but how likely is it to happen?

Arsenal legend Martin Keown reckons Tierney ‘will leave’ Arsenal amid Celtic links after he returned to training on his way back from injury.

Barry Ferguson says Tierney is a ‘quality operator’ and is set to rejoin the Bhoys and labelled him as a ‘top class defender’

Marvin Bartley called Tierney’s return to Celtic a ‘no brainer’ whereas Cammy Bell would call the move a ‘massive coup’ for the Parkhead club.

There is no doubt that Tierney would add quality to the Celtic squad and all eyes will be on whether or not he starts Arsenal’s Carabao Cup semi-final against Newcastle United tonight.
