Aston Villa forward Morgan Rogers has taken to social media to send a message to teammate Amadou Onana after they both scored in the 2-1 FA Cup win over West Ham on Friday (January 10).
Both Rogers, 22, and Onana, 23, were on hand to secure progression to the fourth round for Aston Villa and rain on Graham Potter’s parade in the process.
Lucas Paqueta gave Villa an early scare, opening the scoring after just nine minutes, cooly slotting past Robin Olsen.
Unai Emery’s side continued to dominate proceedings but were unable to break down a stubborn West Ham defence until the 71st minute, with Onana pouncing on a loose ball after the opposition failed to clear their lines from a corner.
Rogers then got in on the act, capping off a wonderful move from striker Ollie Watkins and sending his side to the new round of football’s oldest competition.

Rogers has been key for Emery so far this season, starting all 26 of his games across all competitions, scoring seven goals, and providing four assists in his 2171 minutes of action.
Onana has also established himself since joining from Everton in the summer, starting 16 of his 19 games across all competitions, scoring four goals, and providing zero assists in his 1236 minutes on the field.
The central midfielder took to Instagram to celebrate both the win and Aston Villa’s 150th anniversary, saying: “Happy birthday Aston Villa The crown is back, on to the next round,” to which Rogers responded, “Let’s goooooo.
Villa wore a special blacked-out shirt to commemorate the occasion and will return to their normal strip for the game against Everton on Wednesday (January 15).
Emery’s side have five games remaining in January alone, including crucial Champions League ties with Monaco and Celtic.
