Ange Postecoglou will forever be a Celtic hero.
Yes, many Celtic fans were disappointed that Postecoglou left for Tottenham in 2023, but he went to take up the challenge of becoming a Premier League manager for the first time in his career.
Life has been difficult for Postecoglou since, as Brendan Rodgers continues to go from strength to strength at Parkhead.
The Irishman had to win over disgruntled fans when he first returned because of how he initially left for Leicester City in 2019.
Fast forward to the present, and with three trophies already on the table, Rodgers is going as strong as ever at Celtic, including progression in the Champions League.
Given Celtic’s success in Europe, you would think that those in the boardroom would back and help Rodgers via the transfer market.
But, like everyone saw on transfer deadline day on Monday, and throughout the winter window itself, it was the complete opposite of that.

Celtic cut short Alex Valle’s loan from Barcelona and also sold Alex Bernabei, with the replacement being Jeffrey Schlupp from Crystal Palace – who isn’t even an out-and-out left-back.
Added to that, Kyogo Furuhashi was also allowed to leave, but once again, no new striker arrived.
There was a lot of noise that Celtic needed added quality via the transfer market, but very little was done, as Rodgers has, without a doubt, been let down

Whilst Celtic fans and Rodgers express their frustration at the transfer market, Postecoglou got his wish at Tottenham, despite negative clouds over the London club.
Even though Spurs fans are against Daniel Levy and those running their club, at the end of the day, they still backed Postecoglou in his hour of need, from back to front.
But Rodgers was left short and you could even argue that the Celtic squad was made weaker. Perhaps someone needs to tell the powers that be that Bayern Munich are coming to town soon.
