One thing you can’t fault Celtic for is how they make money via the transfer market.
From selling Jota for big bucks to Saudi Arabia, and then the all-action winger returning 18 months later for less than half the price, is just pure genius by Celtic.
Then, it’s the much-anticipated return of Kieran Tierney in the summer, six years after the left-back left Glasgow to join Arsenal and make a name for himself in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old’s contract at the Emirates expires at the end of the season and he will be donning the colours of his boyhood club again for nada.
Sometimes they say, ‘never go back’, but given Jota’s performances since re-joining, then it’s proof that you should still go back if the door is open to do so.

Kyogo Furuhashi backed to secure Celtic return
Jota’s return to Celtic coincided with Kyogo Furuhashi leaving to join Rennes – a team battling relegation in France’s top tier.
Not only did Kyogo’s exit surprise everyone, but the timing didn’t help, nor the club he decided to join compared to Celtic.
Either way, Andy Walker thinks Celtic would be ‘open for business’ and he could see Kyogo coming back, as he told Go Radio.
“Yeah, possibly,” said Walker on whether Kyogo would have started against Rangers if he was still at the club. “He has been one of Celtic’s main strengths for the last number of months.
“Obviously, you have a £9 million player in Adam Idah. But you also have someone in Daizen Maeda, who has now shown that he is very capable of playing through the middle. If Kyogo was there (for the derby), then you would start him.
“Would Celtic bring him back? They brought Jota back. They brought Kieran Tierney back. If they got a good business deal, I am sure they would be open for business.
“One of the reasons would be that he has gone for a bigger salary. Would he get that here? Yeah maybe (if they were playing him). I think, when Celtic do business, they probably know what they want to do this coming summer when the manager will have his input as well.
Celtic told on what condition Kyogo wouldn’t have been sold to Rennes
Kyogo’s final game in a Celtic shirt proved to be the 1-0 win over Young Boys during the Champions League group phase – and that ticket to the knockout stages was booked.
It was also weeks after Celtic’s horror show at Ibrox – where despite the win for the opposition – the lead at the top of the Premiership table was still pretty healthy, just like it is now.
But Walker made it clear that, if the gap at the top had only been ‘three points’, then Kyogo wouldn’t have been allowed to leave.
“I don’t think Kyogo would have been sold had there been a two or three-point gap,” added Walker.
“But, the gap was so big, that you can afford to do it.
