Everton have a new “aggressive” transfer strategy for this summer which affects an update on Jarrad Branthwaite’s future with the club.
Having been deducted eight points for failing the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules (PSR) last season, Everton avoided a similar punishment this year.
With the club now more financially stable, thanks in large part to a new financing deal on their Bramley Moore-Dock stadium negotiated by the Friedkin Group (TFG), the Toffees are set to give David Moyes a “major transfer war chest”.
This had led to the club adapting to a new transfer policy from recent seasons, as reported by The i.
Everton switch from selling club to ‘aggressive’ summer plans
Having been snubbed by Thomas Tuchel for his first England squad, it was reported Branthwaite was considering his future at the club.
However, despite interest from some of Europe’s giants, including Liverpool, Man United, and Real Madrid, Everton’s are reportedly still standing firm on an asking price of £80million, the same figure quoted to the Red Devils last season when they made an initial approach for the 22-year-old.
The word coming from inside the club is that times are changing at Goodison Park and Everton are planning on being more assertive this summer.
Significant turnover of the current playing squad is expected in the summer and Branthwaite is one of the players Moyes is keen to build his new-look side around.
The Toffees had been forced into a strategy of selling their stars in order to remain PSR compliant, but that has changed since TFG took over.

Angus Kinnear’s arrival from Leeds in the summer will also have an impact, with TFG remaining low-key since their takeover in order to give their new CEO the space to make his mark at the club.
Dusan Vlahovic transfer marks change in fortunes at Everton
Football Insider Verdict
Everton have emerged as surprise contenders for Dusan Vlahovic this summer, with the Serbian striker’s contract expiring in 2026.
The one-time Arsenal target is Juventus’ top scorer this season, but fell out of favour with recently-departed Thiago Motta and has endured a strained relationship with fans of the club.
However, the 25-year-old would represent a serious coup for a club who are only a few seasons removed from making Neal Maupay one of their marquee signings.

Even if Everton fail in their attempts to sign the Serbian striker, the interest in signing a player of his calibre represents the shift in priorities at the club.
Since re-joining the club, Moyes has not only masterminded a meteoric shift in on-pitch performances, as the Scottish manager has also rejuvenated a disillusioned fanbase who had tired of watching their club stutter through each Premier League season.
