Every time Rangers have earned a result against Celtic, in the words of Brendan Rodgers, “they are always coming”.

The Light Blues have a mindset every single time that they are world beaters after one good result and it is, quite frankly, laughable.

Celtic’s 3-2 defeat to Gers a fortnight ago was a miserable performance from the Parkhead outfit on a real off-day for the runaway Scottish Premiership leaders.

Yet once again it was Rangers who acted like they’d won the Champions League with Vaclav Cerny’s pathetic celebrations being criticised as the Czech now faces a ban and a Police Scotland probe.

As has been the case numerous times this term already, Celtic have shown their mettle to bounce back from disappointments and they’ll look to do so against Hearts this afternoon.

Mark Wilson laughed off ‘new Rangers’ talk after Celtic win
The Light Blues, meanwhile, have followed up wins with dropped points, draws and defeats to lower opposition.

And it’s this sort of form that had Mark Wilson reminding everyone where the Hoops are compared to their rivals when yet again the Ibrox pundits got carried away.

“I think the way Barry Ferguson’s went since he’s went in, he’s given everybody a lift,” Gordon Dalziel said.

They’ve beat Celtic at Celtic Park and everybody’s now sitting back and looking at Dundee – and no disrespect – but I think Rangers will cruise that.

Wilson chimed in: “But how many times have we said this before about a Rangers performance.”

Celtic show their mettle after big games while Gers have faltered
The ex-Celtic right-back had enough by this point as he once again shut down Dalziel when the former Gers man attempted to make another point.

Dalziel added: “But I think it’s a different Rangers, Mark…” to which Wilson interjected again: “How many times have we said that before?

“When they beat Celtic in the New Year we all sat here, ‘Wow what a performance, that’s a different Rangers’, a couple of weeks later they revert back.

“These are games that this Rangers side, this year, have slipped up on and failed badly. I think the game will tell us a lot.
