John Eustace has nothing but admiration for Derby County’s Craig Forsyth and says it is a pleasure to work with his former Watford team-mate.
Forsyth has been in excellent form since Eustace’s arrival and is playing a key role in the club’s Championship survival bid.
The 36-year-old recently struck in the 2-0 win over Preston which was his third goal of the campaign.
Whether it is in the heart of the defence or a wing-back role, Forsyth continues to defy father time with the full-back, who is in his 12th year at Pride Park, the club’s longest-serving player.
Eustace played alongside Forsyth at both Watford and Derby and has not nothing but respect for the way he conducts himself on and off the pitch.
“His level of professionalism, his dedication to the game, he’s a family guy and I was playing with him when he was 22/23 at Watford and he was the kind of character that was always going to have a fantastic career,” he said.
“To still be playing at the level he’s playing at 36, he’s full credit to himself. He’s a top performer and a top lad.
“I kind of led him when he was a young kid (at Watford) and I looked after him. He obviously then came to Derby and had a great career here.
“I was lucky to have two good years playing with him as well here.
“I’ve got a huge respect for Fozzy to keep playing at the level he’s playing at.
“He is fantastic, he knows the boundaries, he knows how to act.
It’s no different, I’m sure, to any other manager he’s worked under.
“He’s a pleasure to work with.
