John Higgins is a self-confessed Celtic fan.

It’s common knowledge that he follows his Celtic heroes wherever he is in the world but it was at the Crucible where Higgins has been keeping tabs on the Parkhead clubs results.

With Celtic needing just a point at Tannadice to win the title, Higgins was also heading into a huge match of his own season.

Higgins has been appearing in the 2025 World Snooker Championship and after progressing to the quarter-final of the tournament, couldn’t resist taking a dig at Rangers after Celtic beat Dundee United to win the Scottish Premiership.

John Higgins spells out how far ahead Celtic are of Rangers
Appearing on the BBC, Higgins was taking in his own post-match press conference when Hazel Irvine mentioned that he’s had a good day after his Celtic heroes won the title.

With a cheeky smile, Higgins replied, “I think that’s them, what it is that, 54 titles ahead of our rivals.”

John Parrot can be heard laughing in the background saying, “I like that dig. You couldn’t resist it could you!”

Hazel Irvine, laughing, replied, “Not that you can’t count! 55 I’m hearing but you’ll take it!”

Celtic stand on the brink of even more history
Brendan Rodgers takes his medal tally to 11 after sealing the title at Dundee United.

With the Scottish Cup now left to play for, a win against Aberdeen will put Rodgers’ name into the Celtic history books again to become the first Hoops manager to win three trebles.

James Forrest will also stretch his lead at the top of the Celtic medal charts to 27 as the winger continues his remarkable career at the club.

With so much left to play for, Celtic fans have a lot to look forward to as they hope their club ends the season with a bang at Hampden.
