What a call it was from Celtic and from Brendan Rodgers to return to the club.
Let’s be honest, the feeling between the Celtic Park faithful and Rodgers wasn’t pleasant when he departed in 2019 after his first spell.
But when Ange Postecoglou joined Tottenham during the summer of 2023, to perhaps the surprise of some, it was Rodgers walking back through the doors and donning the club’s colours again.
Fast forward to the present, and that’s four trophies he has delivered, and another could be added to the cabinet by the time the season is out with the Scottish Cup final in May.
On Saturday, the real celebrations started when Celtic thrashed Dundee United to win title number 55 for Scotland’s most successful club.
And Rodgers enjoyed himself on the morning of the game.

As Rodgers mentioned, ‘it’s not our fault’ that the champions are 15 points clear and wiping the floor with everyone.
The manager himself has come over to Glasgow, on two different occasions, and won the title every time.
Speaking to Chris Sutton on Sky Sports, Rodgers told the former striker how, on the morning of Celtic’s title win, he proceeded to watch back ‘some of our goals’, and he explained what impressed him.
Sutton asked: “Do you think the team and yourself get the credit which they deserve?”
“Chris, it’s one of them ones where it’s not our fault that were are 15 points clear and scoring goals,” said Rodgers. “The competition is for everyone. We can only concentrate on ourselves.
“When it matters, this team has produced. The first half of the season, the consistency, the mentality and the performance levels.
“I watched some of our goals back this morning. Absolutely amazing. Speed. The tempo. The quality. Everything.
“When we came out of the Champions League, it dipped a little bit. But, after St Johnstone, we have picked it up again, and now for three games we have scored five goals. A good in the team.

Remember, this was a team that lost its star striker Kyogo Furuhashi in January, yet didn’t replace him for one reason or another.
Yet, during the past three matches, including a Scottish Cup semi-final, Celtic have put 15 goals past their opponents.
Even with Nicolas Kuhn’s form dropping during parts of 2025, the Hoops have continued to score, score and score.
