At the end of a season where Celtic are huge favourites to win a domestic Treble, it’s no surprise plenty of their stars are up for awards.
The Hoops held their own awards night last Sunday and Daizen Maeda hoovered up considerably, winning the main Player of the Year prize for the first time.
Unsurprisingly, the Japanese star also won the PFA Scotland Player of the Year as he beat captain Callum McGregor and Nicolas Kuhn.
Kuhn has also been nominated for the upcoming SFWA Player of the Year award despite a contrasting season for the German.
He started the 2024/25 campaign on fire, but from Christmas time onwards, he went off the boil and critics started questioning his attitude as a Celtic player, with Rodgers having to explain Kuhn’s form.

And ex-Celtic star Simon Donnelly thinks that is the “funny” thing when it comes to Kuhn being put up for the award’s night on May 18.
He compared Kuhn’s season to Hibs midfielder Nectar Triantis, who is also nominated having spent the year at Easter Road on loan from Sunderland.
Triantis was part of the awful start to Hibs’ season, before being a shining light in their revival under manager David Gray.
Donnelly told Clyde 1 Superscoreboard: “It’s a funny one as well though because Hibs towards the second half of the season have been on that great run, so Triantis has been brought more to the fore.
“Whereas Kuhn has dipped a little bit. At one point, he was a stick on. People were saying he was going to go away (in January), he was hot at one point, really hot.

Kuhn has had a brilliant season overall despite tailing off in the second half of the year. His success has garnered transfer interest from Newcastle United and Leeds United as a result.
The 25-year-old missed the Rangers draw with a knee problem, but he’ll be hoping to end the season strongly having scored two goals in the first Premiership post-split match versus Dundee United.
Kuhn is well on track to secure his first domestic Treble as a Celtic star, and if they beat Aberdeen at the end of this month, it would be a world record ninth Treble for the Hoops.
