The debate between Celtic striker Adam Idah and Rangers’ Cyriel Dessers takes a twist this week.
After Celtic’s draw with Rangers at the weekend, both strikers found the back of the net as the Glasgow Derby ended in a stalemate.
As Idah netted his 18th Celtic goal of the season on the way to another treble, Dessers fired in his 25th and will still end the season trophyless.
So with those figures in mind, pundit Marvin Bartley has shared who he thinks would be the better striker if Dessers was planted into Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic team instead of Idah.

Adam Idah has scored some big goals for Celtic over his two spells at the club. Most notably in last season’s Scottish Cup win vs Rangers and in the Champions League against Aston Villa.
Dessers has for Rangers too but when it comes to a winning mentality, Idah has it. So when Bartley made this claim about putting the Rangers man into Rodgers’ Celtic team, it will raise many fans’ eyebrows.
Bartley told Superscoreboard, “Yeah, well, [Idah’s goals at] Aston Villa springs to mind, doesn’t it? When he was given that start he definitely does extremely well in that.
“And that’s the thing, at times you can see Adam Idah like that, but there have been other games where he’s looked off it for the level that’s probably needed to be a main number nine at Celtic.
Even the one that he runs through with Liam Kelly, I know he scores later on with a deflection, but for me, I had no confidence that he was going to run through and put that ball in the back of the net.
“I just think Dessers would outscore him and outperform him in that Celtic team. I think that Celtic team is something to be feared.

Whether that would happen or not is up for debate but it did pique our interest on who has the better scoring record between Idah at Celtic and Dessers at Rangers.
Idah has now scored three goals against Rangers and all three goals were extremely important in the course of the result of each game.
With the number of chances Celtic creates, any striker would score plenty of goals but would Dessers really outscore Idah? That is one that fans of both clubs can debate.
