Former Rangers striker and Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd has lauded the performances of Dujon Sterling and Findlay Curtis following Rangers’ hard-fought 1-0 victory over Hibernian at Ibrox on December 15, 2025.
The match, which saw Rangers climb to third in the Scottish Premiership, was decided by Emmanuel Fernandez’s first-half header from a pinpoint Dujon Sterling cross. Despite a substandard overall team display, Sterling’s return from a long-term Achilles injury proved pivotal. Making his first start in nine months, the versatile defender not only delivered the crucial assist but also made a vital goal-line clearance to deny Hibs’ Warren O’Hora.
Boyd, known for his candid analysis, highlighted Sterling’s impact, calling his performance “outstanding” and emphasising how the Englishman lifted a lacklustre Rangers side. “Dujon was immense at both ends,” Boyd reportedly said. “That clearance kept us in it, and his delivery for the goal was inch-perfect. He’s a massive boost for Danny Rohl.”
Attention also turned to young attacker Findlay Curtis, who earned his first start under manager Danny Rohl. The 19-year-old winger showed flashes of promise, with his deliveries from wide areas causing intermittent problems for the Hibs defence. Boyd has previously praised Curtis’s emergence as a bright spot in Rangers’ season, and post-match, he reiterated his admiration for the academy product’s composure and work rate in a high-pressure fixture.
While Hibs dominated possession and created the better early chances, they failed to capitalise, leaving Ibrox frustrated yet relieved. Rohl himself noted his delight at giving minutes to returning and young players like Sterling and Curtis.
The win extends Rangers’ momentum under Rohl, but Boyd warned that more clinical performances will be needed in upcoming tests. Sterling and Curtis, however, emerged as key positives on a nervy night.
Rohl on what pleased him most in Rangers’ victory vs Hibs
Danny Rohl says the result itself pleased him the most as Rangers defeated Hibernian 1-0 in the William Hill Premiership this evening.
Emmanuel Fernandez scored the only goal of the game.
When asked post-match by RangersTV about the most satisfying aspect of the match, Rohl simply responded: “The result.”
He commended the “three points against a tough opponent” and was delighted to see certain players stepping up.
“I’m happy also for some players today. Dujon [Sterling] starts, Findlay [Curtis] starts, Clinton got some minutes because we need him.”
Rohl added: “We make this as a group together. For me, the win was fully deserved.”
