James Ward-Prowse’s West Ham future is uncertain, according to Give Me Sport.

That the Hammers are trying to attract interest in the midfielder.

This is due to the ex-Southampton man not fitting into Julen Lopetegui’s plans at the London Stadium.

Ward-Prowse joined West Ham last summer for £30million (Sky Sports News, 14 August 2023), playing 51 times in all competitions during his debut season in East London.

Will West Ham United allow James Ward-Prowse to leave the London Stadium?
This is a surprising transfer update.

Ward-Prowse was a mainstay in David Moyes’ side last season.

He played 37 times in the Premier League, scoring seven goals and providing seven assists.

Considering he was signed for £30million just last summer, and has a contract until 2027, it would be a surprise to see him let go.

However, that is the nature of football.

New managers arrive at football clubs with different ideas, meaning even the most important players from the season before are suddenly at risk.

If Lopetegui doesn’t want to keep hold of Ward-Prowse, the Hammers will no doubt be able to find suitors.

But the club would likely be keen to secure a replacement before allowing Ward-Prowse to leave the club.

Having been such a consistent part of the team last season, someone else would need to be brought in.

However, should a midfielder arrive in the coming weeks, Ward-Prowse might find himself looking over his shoulder.
