Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Dominic Calvert-Lewin has failed to sign a new contract offered by the club and will be sold for around £35million if that is not resolved.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – claimed the Toffees will hold out for “£30-35million” for the 27-year-old striker.
Calvert-Lewin, who last signed a contract extension in 2020, is out of contract on Merseyside in 12 months.
Football Insider revealed last month (24 June) that the England international had informed Everton of his desire to join Newcastle this summer when the two clubs were in negotiations over a deal.

Calvert-Lewin was Everton’s top scorer in the 2023-24 campaign with eight goals in a relatively injury-free campaign.

Wyness claimed £30-35million would be a “fair price” – even with just 12 months left to run on his deal.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “It’s complicated by his contract length.
He’s only got one year left. He’s been offered a new one, as I understand it, but is yet to sign it.
“One of two things will happen – he signs the contract, or he’s sold.
“I think we’d be looking at around £30-35million for him, I think that would be a fair price with one year left on his contract.
He could be a great number nine elsewhere. I hope he stays at Everton, but he will do any club a great turn.
“He’s a very talented player and if he stays injury-free, he could be England’s next great number nine.
