Bryan King believes Manchester City and England midfielder Kalvin Phillips would be “perfect” for Everton.

The ex-Goodison scout has backed the 28-year-old to rebuild his career at Goodison Park.

As reported by the Liverpool ECHO (21 July), Sean Dyche is hoping to bring Phillips to the club.

And King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes the transfer would make plenty of sense for both parties.

“Phillips would be a good addition at Goodison Park,” King said.

“I could see him as an Everton player. They talk about players being suited to clubs, Everton could be the perfect place for Phillips.

Under Dyche, I think a move to the club would suit him and it would allow him to rebuild his career.”

Everton to sign Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips?
This feels like one of those transfer links which just makes sense.

Phillips has had a torrid time since joining City. His stock has plummeted massively, which saw him fall out of favour with Gareth Southgate in the England setup.

A move away feels like the best play for Phillips at this stage in his career, and City are unlikely to stand in the midfielder’s way.

As for Everton, they will need someone to replace Amadou Onana in the middle of the park. As a result, this move could be a match made in heaven.

Phillips needs a career revival, and the Toffees need a midfielder with a point to prove.

Therefore, if the money is right, it would perhaps be wise for the Toffees to go all out to sign Phillips.
