Leeds United have had a loan approach for Carlos Forbs turned down by Ajax, according to HITC.

The online outlet reported on 20 August that the Whites have enquired about signing the former Manchester City youngster.

The Dutch giants have “turned their nose up at a potential loan deal” for the 20-year-old who has struggled in the Eredivisie.

The Portugal Under 21 international is unlikely to be on his way to Elland Road as a result.

Leeds United Carlos Forbs approach rebuffed by Ajax
Daniel Farke appears to be looking to bring in any sort of forward option after a disappointing start to the season.

This transfer urgency has come late given that it always felt likely that there were going to be plenty of key departures this summer.

With just over a week remaining of the window, the Whites have only brought in Joe Rothwell and Jayden Bogle who won’t impact the side in forward areas.

Having lost Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter, there is a lack of strength in depth in forward areas.

Now Leeds wants to sign the likes of Manuel Benson and Calvin Stengs with transfers appearing to be difficult for both.

A deal for Forbs also appears to have hit a roadblock which will be yet another blow for Farke and the Leeds supporters during this transfer window.

It is a situation that needs sorting out and quickly before the season gets properly underway and the Whites are in a dangerous place.
